Saturday Night Live returns this week with brand new, first timer host Claire Foy and musical guest Anderson .Paak!

Claire Foy is joining the cast of SNL (the collective group of people, not in the sense of being a cast member, obv.) this Saturday to bring you your semi-weekly dose of spoof and satire.

Foy is best known for her depiction as Queen Elizabeth II in the streaming series The Crown (for which she won an Emmy and a Golden Globe, obv.).

And, like the real Elizabeth II, Foy is not known for her comedic skills. She’s been in comedies, but let’s just say it’s not the genre you immediately associate with Claire Foy. Which means this episode is going to be exciting (OBV.)! Everyone knows what to expect with comics or sketch comedians hosting SNL, but when one of these real, serious actors – and British to boot – shows up, things get nutty.

(That’s John Lithgow in his pre-Third Rock from the Sun, highly respected character actor days).

There’s a lot of room for the sketches to sit back from the quirkier things that have been showing up quite a bit recently, and to go back to a simpler, more traditional way. That’s where an actor like Foy will shine.

Or, she’ll surprise us all – hopefully Chris Redd and Pete Davidson have a dope track for her to drop a verse on.

And what with all the British politics hitting the American news channels recently due to Brexit, there’s some fun to be had with her accent!

It’s been a while since Alec Baldwin graced Saturday Night Live as Donald Trump. We’re on a three-episode streak of Baldwinless (A Baldloss, if you will), Trump adjacent cold opens. He’s overdue for a visit, so he’ll probably be back this week, unless certain parking spot related legal troubles are still preventing him.

The musical guest for this episode is none other than Anderson .Paak, also making his first Saturday Night Live appearance.
