Depp v Heard: The Joke of the Century

Unable to leave alone the biggest media circus trial since OJ Simpson did some bad stuff in the 1990s, Saturday Night Live showcases the Depp v Heard trial for what it is – a long, frustrating joke.

While Kyle Mooney’s Depp wasn’t much to hold onto, the show’s opening sketch hit all the necessary talking points: the trail is good entertainment (and nothing else), and somebody pooped in a bed. Was there reason? Maybe. Was it Amber Heard? Who knows. But the best thing to come from the trail got its own recognition as the cold open sketch.

Cheers to everyone keeping up-to-date on this trial so the rest of us don’t have to.

Weekend Update

Weekend Update had a load of topics to cover this weekend, from the agonizing disasters after disasters we’ve been living through for the past few years, to “What our favourite green Star Wars celebrity up to these days?” Whatever the topic is, they never miss.

And it included that very funny, anti-Colin Jost segment from newbie Sarah Sherman. It’s always great to see the new cast members shine!
