Paul Rudd, the littlest Avenger and man who chose wisely at the Temple of the Sun, will be hosting the season finale of Saturday Night Live.

Right off of Avengers: End Game, Paul Rudd is making his way to 30 Rock to host SNL. And compared to what his character Ant Man had to go through in Avengers, hosting SNL will be a snap.

It’s will be a “welcome back, Paul Rudd” because he’s done the show before. And he was good!

How about that time they got 3/4th of the Anchorman team together to do Will Ferrell’s classic Bill Brasky sketch?

Paul Rudd is definitely the… second best drunken Brasky-lover up there, and he’s the only one who hasn’t even been an SNL cast member (sorry Koechner, people just don’t remember you were on the show).

Despite never being a cast member, Paul Rudd is a part of some classic and iconic Saturday Night Live moments. Who can forget the Vogelchecks, the family who makes out with each other as a greeting, congratulation, argument, pass time…

(And yes that’s Paul Rudd and Kate McKinnon, doing what the Vogelchecks do).

So Rudd has a few quality recurring sketches under his belt. Another Bill Brasky would hit the spot – it’s been years since the last one. And of course, Paul Rudd is as significant of a Vogelcheck as sketch regulars Fred Armisen, Kristen Wiig and Bill Hader. It’s all-too common for the season finale to have mounds of guest cameos. The question for this weekend’s episode is will the cameos be Avengers, or will it be a slew of SNL alumni (and also Alec Baldwin)? Either way, there will probably be a few Ant Man jokes along the way, hopefully at Rudd’s full expense.

It’s been a long season but it’s felt like a short season. There have been laughs, tears, and a lot of sketches mocking Donald Trump and his administration. But now it’s time to take a break. Everyone will regroup, and come back in the fall. Because you know with another clownshow of an election next year, late night comedy shows like Saturday Night Live will be working overtime.
