Coming up this weekend on SNL, returning host Amy Schumer and musical guest Kacey Musgraves!

Only two episodes left in this season. With Donald Glover/Childish Gambino making a big splash over the weekend with his double duty Saturday Night Live gig and dropping his new, much talked about video for This Is America, there’s a high bar set for the remaining two episodes, hosted by Amy Schumer this weekend, and Tina Fey to close out the season. It’s a high-profile May for Saturday Night Live, between the jack-of-all-trades Glover, Schumer at the top of her comedy game and returning Saturday Night’s sweetheart Tina Fey. But this week’s focus is on the next host, Amy Schumer.

Not familiar with Schumer? She’s a stand-up comedian first, comedic actor second – but a not too distant second, because she’s had her own TV show with Inside Amy Schumer, a Comedy Central sketch show that ran from 2013 to 2016. Oh, and she’s played lead in a few movies, including Trainwreck, Snatched, and the recent I Feel Pretty. But yes, her first and continual love is her stand up. Over the years she’s toured constantly and had numerous televised specials. And you can check out her style, because she gave the SNL audience a little taste the last time she hosted:

The last time Schumer hosted the show was October 2015. That episode in particular beckoned some controversy with its “Guns” sketch – a sketch satirically promoting guns as a remembrance for important life moments.

When this episode aired, it had been ten days since America’s latest mass shooting – The Umpqua Community College shooting, in which the gunman killed nine people and injured eight others. Almost three years later, this sketch is still heartbreakingly relevant. Now, Schumer is known for her shock-value gags, but this one is at the other end of the spectrum for her. Regardless, knowing Schumer, she’s all-aboard for this kind of thing, and with all the kinds of things to pick and choose from these days, here’s hoping for a spiritual sequel to the chastising and polarizing Guns.

Saturday Night Live has been hot this season – it’s been a long road since the fall, and so much has happened that just by being off for a few weeks, SNL has missed opportunities to lampoon certain news cycles revolving around certain presidents named Donald Trump. Expect big for this season’s send off – if last week’s episode is any indication, it’s already started and can only ramp up from there.

Be sure to tune in to Saturday Night Live this weekend (May 12th) at 11.35 et/8.30 pt for what is sure to be a great episode hosted by Amy Schumer!
