Your Host, Regé-Jean Page

Recent cast in the upcoming Dungeons & Dragons film, the Zimbabwean-Brit Regé-Jean Page will be hosting Saturday Night Live this Saturday, February 20 at 11.30 et/8.30 pt on Global.

So with Regé-Jean Page, let’s address the elephant in the room – this guy isn’t funny. At least, this guy hasn’t been in funny things. Maybe he’s had chance to go for a laugh or two here and there. But ultimately, a comedic actor Regé-Jean Page is not. So what does that mean, in regards to him hosting Saturday Night Live

Everything! The Roots star is a phenomenal actor, only gaining real recognition in the past five years or so. And he’s a recent breakout star of the new Shonda Rhimes series Bridgerton. And there’s nothing better than watching a guy who has only done serious roles take a pie to the face, so to speak. Page isn’t going to walk away from this episode without looking like some sort of fool in at least a few sketches. It’s just what SNL does to their drama actory-type actor hosts.

Or we could all just do that for an hour and a half (with commercial breaks).

Orrrr we’ll see him in a ridiculous hotdog costume, or some sort of alien with a chronic faring problem, or a guy with an extremely embarrassing or profane name that he has to say over and over. It’s the sticklers that usually get the really hokey treatment, and who better than someone from a show about uptight British debutants narrated by Julie Andrews.

Catch Regé-Jean Page and musical guest Bad Bunny on Saturday Night Live, this weekend, February 20 at 11.30 et/8.30 pt on Global!

Saturday Night Live can be streamed live and On Demand on the new Global TV App and on STACKTV. Global is also available through all major TV service providers.
