Biden Begs

In the episode’s cold open, President Joe Biden (freshman cast member James Austin Johnson) channels his inner J. Jonah Jameson and demands that the menace Spider-Man stop terrorizing America. Because of its box office boon, bringing in billions of bucks, Biden blames the newest Spider-Man film for the recent spread of the omicron variant of COVID-19. Nearly everyone has seen it, making cinemas (Biden believes) to be omicron hotspots.

Of course that’s a ridiculous accusation, Spider-Man has perfect mask etiquette. He can’t be held responsible for further COVID-19 cases! Peter Parker is also very pro-science and is probably all vaccinated… heck, even villainous nerds like the Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus probably got their shots already too.

Weekend Update update

It’s been a little bit since we’ve seen Michael Che and Colin Jost on Update. Tina Fey filled in for them last episode during the initial omicron outbreak in New York. But the boys are back and still as on fire as ever, and they bring in special guest Elmo to say his piece on his recent social media fued!

I’m not sure who this Rocco character is, but he seems a bit hard-headed. I guess I’ll have to go back and binge this season of Sesame Street to catch up on this latest trending story arc. Hope it wraps up better than Game of Thrones.

Ariana DeBose’s episode being a hit bodes well for the rest of Season 47! Tune in for more new Saturday Night Live next week, with host Will Forte and musical guest Måneskin!

Saturday Night Live can be streamed live and On Demand on the new Global TV App and on STACKTV. Global is also available through all major TV service providers.
