Poor Ulong. On the Survivor: Palau season, they were so spectacularly unsuccessful that Stephenie LaGrossa became the last surviving member and a one woman tribe for one night until she was absorbed by Koror the next day.

Nowadays, it seems Ulong may never be surpassed as the worst tribe in Survivor history as once any tribe goes on what could be a disastrous losing streak the tribes gets swapped faster than Ozzy Lusth can climb up a tree Spider-Man style.

CATCH UP NOW: Survivor Season 36: Ghost Island, Episode 2

Since Malolo bungled the first two Immunity Challenges, it was time for a change and the Survivor: Ghost Island tribes were swapped.

The new tribes are:

Naviti: Morgan Ricke, Domenick Abbate, Wendell Holland, Donathan Hurley, Laurel Johnson, James Lim, Chris Noble, Angela Perkins and Libby Vincek.

Malolo: Desiree Afuye, Kellyn Bechtold, Jenna Bowman, Stephanie Johnson, Bradley Kleihege, Sebastian Noel, Brendan Shapiro, Chelsea Townsend and Michael Yerger.

This, of course, presents a problem as on the new Naviti there are five original Naviti and four original Malolo. On the new Malolo there are four original Malolo and five original Naviti.

On Malolo, there might be something that tips the scales though as Michael found a hidden immunity idol. The idol is another Survivor curse as it originally belonged to James Clement. Clement was infamously voted out of Survivor: China with two hidden immunity idols in his possession.

The Legacy Advantage certainly seems to be cursed as Morgan was voted out with it and she willed it to Domenick. Poor Dom. Nobody can blame him if he performs a purification ritual at some point.

Week 2: Game Fail – Morgan Ricke

The original Malolo alliance struck cleverly and struck first. In all honesty, it could have been Wendell who was voted off. It is not like Morgan made any massive missteps. It is just James thought that Dom might have an idol so they should shift the target to someone else, like Morgan or Wendell.

Strategic Gameplay

Morgan definitely didn’t take a seat on the sidelines. She was in the fray trying to steer things but the original Naviti didn’t ever go to Tribal Council so we will never know how strong her influence really was.

Rating: 2 / 5

Social Gameplay

survivor-ghost-island-season-36

The original Naviti wasn’t really featured all that much since they avoided going to Tribal Council. We don’t know too much of her social game but Jacob Derwin did send her the Legacy Advantage and in all the footage she appeared to fit in well with her tribe even though she could be a bit boisterous.

Rating: 2 / 5

Entertainment Value

Morgan was an over the top character. Those kind of personas usually divide people. Morgan was there to play though so it would have been curious to see how much sway she actually had as far as the tribal politics were concerned and if she could keep her big personality in check.

Rating: 2 / 5

Final Castaway Rating: 6 / 15

Week 2: Powell’s Picks

Who played it cool and who proved themselves to be a fool? Every week John Powell makes his picks for the worst and best players of the week.

survivor-morgan-ricke-ghost-island-season-36

Bronze Amateur: Morgan Ricke

Although she didn’t do anything terribly wrong to put herself in danger, she should have been working harder at controlling or manipulating the tribal politics in some way.

survivor-domenick-abbate-ghost-island-season-36

Silver Amateur: Domenick Abbate

Revealing the phony hidden immunity idol only made his rivals even more wary of him.

survivor-chris-noble-ghost-island-season-36

Gold Amateur: Chris Noble

It is only by pure luck that he is still in the game. His gameplay has made him Public Enemy No. 1.

survivor-michael-yerger-ghost-island-season-36

Bronze MVP: The Original Malolo Alliance On Malolo

Knowing the odds were against them, they took action and began collectively searching for that hidden immunity idol.

survivor-james-lim-ghost-island-season-36

Silver MVP: The Original Malolo Alliance On Naviti
They remained focused, unified.

survivor-libby-vincek-ghost-island-season-36

Gold MVP: Libby Vincek
She played Chris perfectly and might be the one to watch out for this season.
