John Powell – GobalTV.com

We have our final six and Survivor: Game Changers is ready for its finale next Wednesday night. As is expected the castaways are sharpening their knives and there are about to be a number of sore backs before that final Tribal Council.

Sarah, who duped Sarah Dawn into willing her Legacy Advantage to her, isn’t the only one honing her blade. Aubry has been stirring up trouble by pitting people against one another. Cirie, the puppet master, is pulling all sorts of strings with her apprentice, Michaela. We have seen snippets of Brad trying to rattle the controlling alliance. We have seen Tai playing all sides.

And then there is Troyzan, who…ummmm…is…ummmm…just kinda there like the palm trees, isn’t he?

Mix in a healthy level of paranoia and widespread mistrust with those knives and you have what could be a very unpredictable and fierce finale. Who will be crowned the Sole Survivor and take home that million dollar check? Tune in Wednesday, May 24 at 8 et/pt for the two-hour finale and reunion show on Global.

Week 11: Game Fail – Michaela Bradshaw and Andrea Boehlke

In the final phase of the game, it is sometimes very difficult to find real fault with someone’s gameplay. That is especially true with Andrea and Michaela. Both were strong competitors and threats when it came to those crucial and final competitions.

Andrea fell out of favour with Cirie and was seen as a competition and strategic risk. Michaela played a terrible social game but was crafty enough to link up with the right people when she could.

Strategic Gameplay

Based on her previous stint, Andrea was already acknowledged as a tactical and athletic theat. It is actually quite surprising how long it took for her to be seriously targeted at Tribal Council. Relentlessly planning and finessing her moves, Andrea had her missteps but all in all, her moves kept her in the game.

While being no slouch herself when it comes to strategy, one has to wonder though how much Michaela relied on Cirie as she was a big target and an underdog for much of the game. Her best decision was placing her faith and trust in Cirie.

Andrea Rating: 4 / 5
Michaela Rating: 3 / 5

Social Gameplay

Andrea played a sound social game except she lost track of her ally Zeke somewhere down the line. Zeke felt like he wasn’t an equal partner in his alliance with Andrea and Cirie and Andrea should have caught onto that and worked, babysat that relationship better as it could have cost her the game and a jury vote.

Michaela was all kinds of awful. She threw a public tantrum when she discovered she was a decoy target at the original Mana Tribe. She fought with J.T. over sugar. She once again lashed out when she lost the loved ones challenge and throughout the season many of her fellow Survivors have complained about her volatile attitude.

Andrea Rating: 4 / 5
Michaela Rating: 2 / 5

Entertainment Value

Andrea and Michaela have a lot in common which is why they both make for great castaways and competitors. Whether it is at challenges or back at camp, they always battle to the bitter end and they don’t mind causing a bit of drama here and there which never hurts. Here is hoping we get to see them play again, maybe a bit older and a bit wiser.

Andrea Rating: 4 / 5
Michaela Rating: 4 / 5

Andrea Final Castaway Rating: 12 / 15
Michaela Final Castaway Rating: 9 / 15

Week 11: Powell’s Picks

Who played it cool and who proved themselves to be a fool? Every week John Powell makes his picks for the worst and best players of the week.

troy_mvp

Bronze Amateur: Troy “Troyzan” Robertson

Is he even playing? From the edit, it appears as if he is on a camping trip. Is he this year’s goat?

tai_mvp

Silver Amateur: Tai Trang

Giving everyone the benefit of the doubt is a good way to live your life but not a stellar way to play Survivor. I have a funny feeling those Hidden Immunity Idols will never get played.

cirie_mvp

Gold Amateur: Cirie Fields

She really looked like the fool this week and it is clear that Sarah probably didn’t buy her explanation. That one Tribal Council might have seriously damaged Cirie’s game.

brad_mvp

Bronze MVP: Brad Culpepper

He won Immunity and he is still fighting despite the odds against him.

cirie_mvp

Silver MVP: Cirie Fields

She is continuing to drive that bus but has she arrived at a dead end.

sarah_mvp

Gold MVP: Sarah Lacina

She outsmarted Cirie and is being recognized as a power player. Not sure she should have used the Legacy Advantage at that time but time will tell if she has made all of the right moves or not.

Watch Survivor: Game Changers Wednesdays at 8 et/pt on Global.
