She won Austin’s heart and a million dollars. Dee Valladares, the entrepreneur from Miami, Florida, is the Sole Survivor of the forty-fifth season of Survivor.

Dee won by two votes over her beau and showmance, Austin Li Coon, the grad student from Chicago. Jake, the lawyer from Boston, didn’t receive a single vote from the jury.

Katurah, Julie, Emily, Kellie and Kaleb voted for Dee while Drew, Bruce and Kendra voted for Austin to win.

Dee revealed that a part of her million dollar winnings will go to her parents so they can have a worry-free retirement.

“Jeff, I had to win. There was no other option for me because I came on Survivor to retire my parents and take care of my loved ones,” said an emotional Dee on the reunion show.

As an alternate player put in the game right before it started Austin stated that he felt like he was playing with “house money” the entire time.

“That night I couldn’t eat. I couldn’t sleep. I had 72 hours to mentally prepare myself but I think it was almost better for me. It didn’t let me get too much into my head,” he told series host and producer Jeff Probst.

Julie Alley, the mother figure on the island and estate attorney back home, was the first voted out during the finale.

Dee won the final immunity challenge. She picked Austin to sit beside her at the final tribal council. Jake and Katurah were forced to make fire and fight for that third spot. Lady Luck finally shone down on sad sack Jake and he won the challenge solidifying his place at the final tribal council of the season.

Survivor 46 will debut on Global TV on Wednesday, February 28th, 2024.
