The voice of Strawberry Shortcake, a TV star, a pro wrestler and two Canadians have joined the cast of Survivor 51.

The 21 new castaways who will compete against each other kicking off the series’ new “Open Era” with a special two-hour episode, Wednesday, Sept. 23 (8:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on Global TV. In the “Open Era” every twist, every idol, every advantage in the series’ history may come into play in any order and without warning.

The show will then shift to 90-minute weekly episodes beginning Wednesday, Sept. 30 at 8:00 PM.

The following 21 new Castaways are set to embark on the adventure of a lifetime on SURVIVOR 51, where they will test their endurance, strategy and willpower in pursuit of the title of Sole Survivor and the $1 million grand prize.

She has a Bachelors in Culinary Nutrition/ Specializes in Plant Based Cuisine. She was a prep and cook dishes for the New England Patriots.

Her University of Maryland bio: “Angelica “Jelly” Loblack is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Sociology at the University of Maryland and a recipient of the 2021 Ford Predoctoral Fellowship. Her scholarship broadly tries to understand how cultural understandings of race manifest within families to inform the identity construction, political engagement, and day-to-day socialization experiences of Black multiracial and multiethnic youth. Her previous research examines how multiracial students express divergent motivations for their involvement in race-oriented student organizations at predominately white universities and how this involvement impacts understandings of race and racial identity. Jelly is currently collaborating on several other projects, which explore topics such as: the relationship between skin tone and hair texture in aesthetic beauty hierarchies, Black women’s affective ties to their hair throughout the life course, how incarcerated individuals perceive and experience COVID-19 mitigation efforts within prisons, and representations of mixedness and interracial intimacy in popular media.

In addition to her research, Jelly has been invited to speak at numerous university sponsored and community led events. An activist at my core, I began my career as an intern for the National Gay & Lesbian Task Force in the ‘90s, and cut my teeth in politics managing a field office during the same-sex marriage campaigns of the 2000s.

Never afraid to voice important questions, my style of leadership is transparent, bold, and collaborative. As Director of AIDS/LifeCycle, I led a team of high-performing fundraisers toward goals viewed as “impossible” by others, achieving a $1 million (20%) increase in fundraising in my first year. While a senior leader for the world’s largest LGBT organization, I served as an inclusion champion, overseeing organization-wide efforts to improve services to and employment practices for lesbian and bi women, and cross-departmental collaboration among providers of services to the Trans community. I led workgroups focused on culture, coached directors and middle managers, and helped to develop policies, programs and trainings to increase employee engagement and belonging.

Most recently, I served as Executive Director of Pacific Pride Foundation, a leading LGBTQ+ center between on California’s Central Coast where I led an organization dedicated to ensuring a vibrant, thriving, and visible LGBTQ+ community.”
