After 36 days and 13 Tribal Councils, Survivor: Heroes vs Healers vs Hustlers finally has its final five.

Ben Driebergen, Chrissy Hofbeck, Devon Pinto, Ryan Ulrich and Mike Zahalsky have made it to the finale while the short-sighted Ashley Nolan now finds herself sitting on the jury.

In a Survivor comeback that might be like no other, Ben found and played another Hidden Immunity Idol torching everyone’s plans to vote him out.

Forced to sacrifice one of their own allies everyone voted Ashley out, even her alliance mate Devon. The writing was on the wall for Ashley who was not chosen to go on Reward with Chrissy, Ryan and Devon. Ashley refused to make a deal with Ben and from that point forward her fate was sealed.

Two Heroes. Two Hustlers. One Healer. Who will win the title of Sole Survivor and the million dollars? Tune into the 2-hour finale and reunion on Wednesday, December 20 beginning at 8 et/pt on Global. Before then, come back and check out our Survivor 35 Awards and our finale predictions starting on next Monday (December 18) .

Week 12: Game Fail – Ashley Nolan

One of the keys to Survivor is being acutely aware of the tribal politics. Knowing when you are potentially on the bottom and flipping things in your favour before that noose tightens. All the warnings signs were there but Ashley elected to ignore them.

Strategic Gameplay

Ashley was a part of all manner of crucial meetings and decisions. The thing is how much influence did she actually have? She did try to turn Devon against Joe Mena and she was crucial in bringing Joe and Mike in on the vote to boot JP Hilsabeck. She did manipulate people to her advantage, however, it never seemed like the schemes were her own or that she had control over them.

Rating: 2 / 5

Social Gameplay

Ashley was viewed as a solid ally and a solid number. Her edit gave the impression that people who were close to her had faith in her believing she would never turn against them. She was loyal to a fault and perhaps to her own detriment in the end.

Rating: 4 / 5

Entertainment Value

As far as athletic female competitors, Ashley is one of the fiercest winning nine challenges in total. Where her journey kinda faltered was her strategic game. She supported decisions as a faithful foot soldier. We never saw her formulate those plans as a general though.

Rating: 3.5 / 5

Final Castaway Rating: 9.5 / 15

Week 12: Powell’s Picks

Who played it cool and who proved themselves to be a fool? Every week John Powell makes his picks for the worst and best players of the week.

Bronze Amateur: Mike Zahalsky

Dude is just kinda there, dragged along without any core allies to support him.

Silver Amateur: Devon Pinto

First he turns on Ryan (for good reason) and then he turns on Ashley. He would’ve had a much better chance with Ashley sitting next to him than Ryan or Chrissy. His short-sightedness may cost him the game.

Gold Amateur: Ashley Nolan

She failed to flip things and save herself when she could have.

Bronze MVP: Devon Pinto

Siding with Chrissy and Ryan over Ashley will get him to that next step but that decision to not seize control probably will not benefit him.

Silver MVP: Chrissy Hofbeck

Like her attitude or not, she won Immunity and still controlled the vote, getting her target out.

Gold MVP: Ben Driebergen

Continues to defy the odds and pulled off a stunning comeback.

Watch the finale of Survivor: Heroes v. Healers v. Hustlers next Wednesday at 8 et/pt on Global.
