Star of Will & Grace Eric McCormack was happy to tell all about his new Hollywood Walk of Fame star on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

Eric McCormack, who stars as Will in Will & Grace, received a Hollywood Walk of Fame star this September – right next to his Will & Grace co-star Debra Messing’s (who received hers a year earlier). McCormack seemed like he couldn’t have been happier about his new star, even two months after the fact, and bragged about not only getting Michael Douglas to present his star, but that he got it one month before Douglas.

Why did McCormack get his star before Michael Douglas? Legend of acting, dating all the way back to the 1970s Michael Douglas? Who’s to say – McCormack certainly deserves his star, and even his was a little late coming. But Douglas should have had his by the end of the 1990s, Latest.

Anyway, McCormack seems like he was always destined to be an actor. While attending Toronto’s Ryerson University as a theatre major, he learned that his father – whom Eric McCormack had never seen act a day in his life,  attended the very same program at the very same school.

And not only is it in his blood to act, but it’s in his upbringing to be drawn to sitcoms. With Will & Grace having just been renewed for it’s third season of the reboot series (and to be 11th overall), it seems like McCormack was destined to be a sitcom actor. It’s not the only thing he’s done, but it’s the cornerstone of his career and still remains his bread and butter. He attributes it to all the “studying” he did as a child, watching the classics like M*A*S*H and All In The Family.
