Peter Dinklage, best known as Tyrion Lannister on HBO’s Game of Thrones, visits The Late Show with Stephen Colbert just long enough for Stephen to do his usual high-fantasy nerd-out.

Dinklage has received such acclaim for the role of Tyrion in Game of Thrones. He plays a break-out character on a break-out series, so Dinklage has risen to house-hold name status by now, not to mention his revered status among the Game of Thrones fandom. Though, his popularity among the violence and dragons crowd might wane once they find out he read lines Anastasia Steele character from 50 Shades of Grey.

So, he was just helping out a his friend Jamie Dornan, but still. It’s probably the only time that Dinklage will be reading the same part as Dakota Johnson.

Dinklage’s upcoming role in the film My Dinner with Hervé, however, will be an interesting one, which is based on the star of the aged series Fantasy Island Hervé Villechaize. Unfamiliar with a relic such as Fantasy Island? Why don’t you listen to Dinklage explain:

New and exciting roles aside, Dinklage is really beloved as Tyrion Lannister from Game of Thrones. Dinklage is done with the show now – and that’s not a spoiler, the show is done filming. Everyone involved is done, so you don’t have to worry about Tyrion getting sliced and diced (or do you? Who knows with Game of Thrones).

The upcoming final season of Game of Thrones is very hush-hush, and Dinklage is a professional about that. He can’t give any story away, but he can give some insight into the behind-the-scenes happenings around the show, like what the wrap party was all about (dragons, apparently? Man, that show really pulls out all the stops!).

Weep not for Tyrion Lannister, but instead rejoice! As Peter Dinklage moves onto his next projects, for you to enjoy this tremendous actor in a variety of roles. He’s incredibly charming in everything he’s been in, so whatever is next for him is bound to be great.
