Ring-a-ding, Kristen Bell of TV’s The Good Place meets Stephen Colbert for the first time on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert – and they get along great!

Kristen Bell isn’t a run-of-the-mill guest to show up on The Late Show. She’s been in Stephen’s shoes – well, not his shoes, but shoes very similar to his very own shoes.

Yes, she hosted Jimmy Kimmel Live! once! Maybe you saw it (though probably not because it’s opposite of The Late Show so it would have been impossible for you to see it because you were watching The Late Showright?), but Stephen seems to think she did a stellar job because he offered her the same gig on his show right on the spot – after having never even met her before five minutes prior. What would a Kristen Bell Late Show look like? Well, as eager as you might be to find out, don’t wish ill will on Stephen just yet. But maybe wish he would take a tiny vacation?

Speaking of terrible transitions, Kristen Bell’s daughter is scary! A casual conversation between Bell and Colbert about child rearing goes to a dark place when Bell mentions that her daughter regularly threatens to kill her with a gun.

That’s probably nothing to worry about. It’s not like firearms are easily accessible to minors in the States – if they were, that’d be something you’d hear a lot about, right? …right?

Oh.

Well, if you think Kristen Bell couldn’t take the interview darker from there, then just hold on one second. The Good Place season three premiered this week, and like every teenager coming out of their sophomore year, it’s getting philosophical. It kind of had to cross that bridge at some point – a show that’s pretty moral- and death-centric can’t keep it light and fancy free forever. But Kristen Bell took the cue to jam the Late Show interview into fourth gear and go dark – probably darker than any guest has taken it – with a couple of jarring philosophical hypotheticals.

Are you intrigued yet? Is intrigued the right word? Either way, The Good Place promises this and more intriguing dialogues for its new third season!

So be sure to watch the season three of The Good Place Thursdays at 8.30 et/pt on Global! And catch more of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert airing weeknights at 11.35 et/pt on Global, and watch the latest episodes online here on GlobalTV.com!
