The 44th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards were held on April 30th at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, hosted by The Talk’s very own Sheryl Underwood and Extra’s Mario Lopez. It was a big night for Global daytime shows The Young and the Restless, Days of Our Lives, and The Talk, which all took home at least one award.

The hosts of The Talk didn’t think they’d ever win in this category because they’ve never won it before. They didn’t prepare a speech, but there were hugs, tears, and lots of cheers from the audience as they emotionally said their thank yous.

Steve Burton, who left Y&R in December of last year, spoke about what it was like to reunite with his Young and the Restless family and take home an award on the star-studded night. Sheryl Underwood teared up when Kate Mansi from Days of Our Lives told a touching story about how her grandmother had a big part in her Daytime Emmy win.
