Emilia Clarke, star of the biggest television series to hit this century, Game of Thrones, joined Stephen on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to basically chat about what she was contractually incapable of chatting about – the upcoming end to Game of Thrones.

Emilia Clarke is known not only, but best, from her role as Daenerys Targaryen on Game of Thrones (but her resume includes some Star Wars, and Terminator series, so she’s no one-hit-wonder). And, since Game of Thrones is just a couple months away from never airing another new episode, Clarke appeared on The Late Show to not give anything away, other than she already gave everything away to her mother.

Did Emilia Clarke just put her own mother in danger? She at the very least set her mom up for being pestered by her friends for answers – and herself for a very big fine for publicly admitting to breaking what is probably a legally intense and punishing NDA.

Daenerys Targaryen, Clarke’s Game of Thrones character, is known for being the dragon lady of the show. “Mother of Dragons”, some might even call her. So naturally Clarke would have to share a lot of scenes with dragons. And naturally, dragons don’t exist. So it’s movie magic reveal time, because those dragons that everyone loves? Just green tarps with a set of leaf blowers strapped to the front. But they sure look real on TV, and to Clarke, they’ve even become real enough to love.

And if riding dragons for money isn’t enough to make you jealous of Clarke’s job for the past eight years, the Game of Thrones cast and crew have notoriously extensive and frequent wrap parties – each location and actor gets their own wrap party. Given the amount of characters that get iced and cycled out of the series, that’s got to be scores of parties each season. If you’ve ever heard of Hollywood wrap parties being over the top, then consider what the most popular, largest budget show would have to offer. Then think about twenty of those a season.

But it wasn’t all fun and games throughout filming the series. Clarke had some health issues, notably a large brain hemorrhage early on in the series. Obviously she’s okay, and made it through relatively unharmed, but it was quite an ordeal she had to go through that she’s just talking about now:

Game of Thrones is coming to an end, but it’s probably not the last you’ll see of Emilia Clarke. But it might be the last time you see her battling with orcs, or dancing with elves, high fiving goblins, tossing gnomes, playing euchre with drow, or whatever it is Dragon Mothers do in Game of Thrones.
