He took his shot…and he missed. As HoH, Barrett made a big move against the Survivors in the house but in the end it was Angela he sent to jury. From there, things just got a whole lot worse for Barrett and he, his game never recovered. Who does he want to follow him into the jury house next? You might be surprised.

John Powell: Why did you stay loyal to and trust Drew?

Barrett Pfeiffer: Well, with Drew, he’s always going to be a guy that I find in the middle of everything. He’s a guy that from Day One we linked up as super fans. We knew that we were the biggest fans in the house and I had a connection with him that I don’t feel like people fully understand in the game context but it was very big brother, little brother to me. In our relationship with Devens there was always just a solid base of trust with Drew. He’s really the only person I ever specifically even formed a final two with.

So, at the same time, I feel like Drew’s game is very transparent and when you have somebody who is very transparent around the house, it’s easier to get back into a game sense with them because, at the end of the day, Drew is somebody that everyone else in the house was going to go after regardless. So I was like, okay, maybe this guy knows that we have that link of trust from Day One and he’s also a guy that I could drag to the final two and probably beat at the same time.

I think also the arc of the Middlemen and us being such an early duo that was seen as a duo. That half of us was, like, the most messy player of the season. For us to make it to the end would have been really funny to me. So. that was always going to be in the back of my mind but Drew is somebody that’s also really fun to play the game of Big Brother with. And at the end of the day, that’s really what I cared about with him. I just wish he was a little bit less loyal to the icons. Like, literally at every turn.

John Powell: Were you more loyal to Devens or Dee?

Barrett Pfeiffer: I think I went back and forth on that really early on in the game. Like, I would—it felt like at first it would have been Dee. I felt like Dee was somebody that I could connect with a lot more on an emotional level. She’s somebody that I spilled a lot more of my game to in those early weeks and she was also somebody that I felt like I could be more likely to beat in competitions at the end of the game than Devens.

But then, as the game went on, I felt like I had a much more solid relationship with Devens, and then, of course, in the Finger Guns, whatever we call that, alliance with Devens and Drew, it kind of changed a bit.

Then I think, of course, Dee’s second HOH fully solidified that I would trust Devens more but then again, at that point, I’d lost all loyalty with the icons. So, in the end, I would have chosen Dee to go to the end with but maybe not so much for my trust in her but maybe more so for the ability to beat her.

I think Dee lying after the lyric vote so easily and messily also made me question where her game was at the time and her just saying she was lying because she was having fun. That also made me question a lot about where she saw her game going forward. So, Devens there as well.

John Powell: Who do you want to follow you to the jury house and why?

Barrett Pfeiffer: I need a Survivor, but if I had to pick one, Rick Devens. Rick Devens needs to be in that jury house with me. I need somebody to hang out with that’s not Angela and Lala. As much as I love them, I also need somebody to watch movies with or to talk about movies with and he is that guy for me. We can talk for days and so I need somebody to fill up this time for me.

But also, if Rick Devens is out of that game, I think the rest of the season is going to be really chaotic and really fun. As long as it’s not Melody that shows up to that jury house, I’ll really just be stoked for that. So, but I mean, come on, give me Rick Devens.

John Powell: Did you ever had romantic feelings for Melody?

Barrett Pfeiffer: Um, I would say no. Melody was like, you know, a Drew’s girl or not Drew’s girl. I am still trying to figure out what was going on there. I would say no. Having, like, this love triangle with Drew and Melody was really, was really fun, and Melody is, like, probably my best friend that is currently in that house right now. One of my best friends in the entire season and will be one of my friends for my entire life. I don’t think, in the romance sense, that me and Melody have that going on. So, a valid, valid question, though, I will say.

John Powell: Who disappointed you the most in the house?

Barrett Pfeiffer: I think that’s definitely Yash. Actually, I think Drew and Yash may tie for this. Oh, this is complicated. Can I? I’m going to say a tie between Drew and Yash.

Yash making that deal, lying about it? I don’t think he needed to lie. Like, if he just said, “I can’t put all of the icons up if I win HOH,” there’s nothing we could do about that, and we could have moved forward and that would have been that. It would have made the week a lot simpler for me because he’s making this fake handshake agreement sound like a real thing.

For Drew, his inability to shut his mouth and to go back and forth from being ceasefire strong to going downstairs and being Icon strong again. He just can’t stop doing it. I think all of this led to the situation that we were in in the past week. And so, Yash, Drew would definitely be my two.
