As he spent some time alone today in the gym working out, Devens addressed fans and viewers through the live feeds. He spoke about his road map going forward, how the Big Brother game is so much different than Survivor, how they are the same and how much he misses his family.

“I left my family all summer. It’s going to be really hard to get from where we are right now to the end and then to have a case to win against whoever you’re sitting against. It’s going to be even harder.
So we’re going to have to make some hard decisions and we’re going to have to hurt some feelings but that’s where my head’s at right now.

I don’t think my perception of the jury, and I could be wrong, I’ve been wrong about juries before, I don’t think Taylor or Melody can win the game against anyone but each other. If they’re in a final two with anybody, I don’t think they win unless they’re sitting against each other and then I think Taylor probably wins.

Which means everybody’s going to want to try to take them to the end, which makes them dangerous because they’re taking a spot that you need to sit in.

So, in a way, it wouldn’t be bad to get Melody out this week because then Barrett’s still a target. He’s still a shield but we’re just running out of time for shields and targets.

And as much as he might be a shield, like, I think if I sit against Barrett, I go home. I don’t think anyone keeps me over Barrett, except Dee.

There you go. That’s where I’m at.

Becca, Jack, Juliet, we made it to final six! Incredible! I’m so excited. I got fourth on Survivor 38. I got seventh on Survivor 50. I’m already top six on Big Brother 28. Not bad.

Becca, I love you. I miss you so much. I’ve been collecting recipes here, so I’m going to come home and cook you a lot of dinners, and I can’t wait to go on a trip.

Okay but also I need to remind you. I got to go to Virginia Tech homecoming and that’s like the weekend of the 15th. I’ve already committed. I would love to take the kids and you, if you are available. If the kids are available and you’re not, I’ll take them and I’ll give you a break.

If none of you are available, I’ll come back as soon as I can. But we’ll visit Momo and Pop. We’ll see the game. We’ll visit the class, go to a student affairs event, back to Macon, and I’ll be there for a long time.
Carving pumpkins, getting ready for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s—a lot to look forward to.

I hope I’m making you proud. I’m trying to have as much fun as I can, and I’m having a lot of it.

I’m making a lot of friends, which makes it harder but it’s been great. I love you. And again, if someone could send that to Becca or me on Instagram, or Aubry Bracco on Instagram, it’ll get to Becca, and I very much appreciate that.

All you fans, I’m trying. I’m trying my best to win this game and I’m trying to do it in a fun way. And I hope you’re enjoying it. I appreciate you all.

Big Brother and Survivor are different in so many ways but a lot of the things that are great about Survivor are great about Big Brother: the people, the pressure, how hard it is just to stay in that mindset of winning and not taking things personally.

The last thing I want to be, honestly, is a hypocrite. Like, I don’t want to screw over Kamu and then be upset personally that I’m screwed over by Barrett. Like, gameplay-wise, you burnt that bridge, Barrett. I’m coming for you but personally, love you, Bear. Love you, man.

Just like Kamu was to me, which was so appreciated. Kamu, love you, dude. Dude, I miss Kamu every day in this house. I really loved spending time with my guy, Kamu.

I’m having fun. I hope you’re having fun watching. What a crazy group of people. It has been so wild in here and so fun, and the Big Brother experience has surpassed my expectations.

It’s cool, man. It’s so different from Survivor in every other facet than the ones I just described. But, like, the comps are so much more fun. Like, you dress in costumes, you do these things. Like, it feels like Survivor. Everything’s live or die, and there is that vibe here but it’s also just, like, wacky.

The days are longer. The game is so much longer but even being a Have-Not, which I am right now, is just nothing compared to the suffering you’re doing on Survivor. But on Survivor, at least you’re all suffering together.

Being a Have-Not’s weird because people are eating right in front of you, and people are taking hot showers right in front of you, and you’re like, I want to do those things.

You’re walking by a plate of cooked fries and you just want to grab something, and you’re like, oh, wait, I can’t do that.

And all you people that like to spy on folks cheating being a Have-Not, I hope you’ve noticed. I take it very seriously. I don’t cheat. I haven’t had one non-Have-Not thing.

I take that stuff seriously. I’m trying to respect the game, respect the fans, have a good time. I’m sure there’s some of you out there that are not appreciating what I’m bringing to the table and that’s going to happen. I guess, sorry, not sorry, but, like, I’m trying to be a good sport, have fun, play hard. Like, what more do you want? Come on, let’s have a good time.

Don’t worry, I still got to finish the set. I just wanted to make sure no one was spying on me and listening in.

Funny, another fun difference between this and Survivor: Survivor, you lose a bunch of weight. Here, you put on a bunch of weight because there’s so much food all the time.

But, dude, I put on a lot of muscle here because Kamu and Yash taught me how to work out a little bit…
That’s all I’ve got. I don’t think I can be entertaining for the rest of this workout. For the rest of my time in the Big Brother house, I’m done…

We all think tomorrow’s going to be a double eviction. Got to be ready to win that HOH. Make some quick decisions, and then if it is a double, when it’s all over, we got to win another HOH and control next week…

Like, I’m walking in the footsteps of so many people I watched and enjoyed on Big Brother. Everyone who’s played. Everyone who’s played. But, like, Dr. Will, Janelle, Danielle, Dan. Like, oh my gosh, man. Paul, who was our host. Morgan, who was our host. Brittany—oh my God, would I tell you I’m a Britney fan.

And she hosted our comp. Like, I think Britney’s hilarious!

My wife and I are such big Britney fans, and she was here playing this game in this house, and then she came while we were playing. Like, what?

Living the dream. Unreal. So lucky.

It’s pretty awesome. It’s pretty awesome. Try not to take any of that for granted when things get tough.
Like, it wouldn’t be what it is without adversity, right? Can’t do great things without adversity.

Bring on the adversity. Bring on the adversity. Another round of adversity.

It’s awesome.

Everyone who watched Survivor 50 knows that I’m the luckiest, and nothing’s changed, man. I’m still the luckiest.
