12 days in the game. 27 days on the Edge of Extinction. 1 Survivor winner.

Chris Underwood, the sales manager from South Carolina, has become the 38th Survivor winner.

Chris returned to the game on Day 35 from the Edge of Extinction after being voted out on Day 8 to win the game.

Chris beat fellow finalists Gavin Whitson and Julie Rosenberg. He received 9 votes, Gavin 4 votes and Julie none.

Chris beat out all the other Edge of Extinction castaways to win his way back into the game. Victoria Baamonde and Lauren O’Connell were voted out in succession.

In the final four, Chris made a bold move, deliberately surrendering his immunity to Julie at Tribal Council so he could face off against Rick Devens in a fire-making challenge. Chris considered Rick the best player of the season. Chris won joining Julie and Gavin in the finals.

Survivor returns to Global this fall with Survivor: Island of the Idols. Sandra Diaz-Twine, the only player to win Survivor twice (Pearl Islands and Heroes vs. Villains) and Rob Mariano, the winner of Survivor: Redemption Island, will return as mentors not players. They will offer their guidance and a knowledge to the new players but their assistance comes with a price.
