Alec Baldwin has been everyone’s favourite president impersonator the past six or so months, since appearing as Donald Trump on Saturday Night Live this season. He’s basically a cast member there, or at least he should be, appearing on SNL more often than not this year.

Who can get enough of Baldwin at this point? His Trump impression is at the top of everyone’s list. And last night he was Stephen’s guest on The Late Show with Stephen ColbertBaldwin was open about the effect his Trump impression has had on him, and more than eager to share some insight into the transformation process.


 

It wasn’t just current presidents who were being picked on by Colbert and Baldwin. He’s got a signed letter from Richard Nixon, and neither of them can help but read it in the former president’s infamous growl:


 

All seriousness aside, Colbert and Baldwin got silly. They hit it off pretty well. Well enough to do an elaborate and wordy comedy sketch, in the form of The Late Show presents: Too Much Exposition Theatre. Stephen just had to flex his acting muscles in front of Alec Baldwin, so together they entertain in this very silly sketch (worth noting: look closely, Baldwin comes close to breaking):
