When police arrived, they discovered the shooter had killed two people, Arash Missaghi and Samira Yousefi, before turning the gun on himself. Initially officials did not release the motive for the attack, but his wife said her husband, 46-year-old Alan Kats, could not handle “losing our life’s savings” in an alleged mortgage fraud the two victims were accused of.
