Big Brother USA used to have a bit of a challenge problem. When holding some of their trivia competitions they found that players could see reflections of the other players in the windows in the backyard. They soon changed things to prevent that from happening.

Survivor still has that same problem and hasn’t made any move to correct things. Time and time again we see other tribes cribbing off other tribes especially when it comes to completing puzzles. Some sneak peeks and glances to what others are doing when they themselves are stuck. Tonight, Vesi took things one step further by actually assisting Baka in defeating Coco at the immunity challenge.

Once again, I know that Survivor doesn’t have many rules but making it easy for tribes to bamboozle their way to a win doesn’t sit well with me and neither does two tribes conspiring against another. You would think they would erect barriers of some sort to prevent this from happening in order to keep the game on the level. It is unclear why they never had. All that I know is when I see one tribe stealing a look at another tribe’s solution is no different than copying off someone’s work during an exam and shouldn’t be something that the producers encourage.

Tonight’s boot was a shocker to me. Based on the edit, my Survivor spidey sense, I really did believe Lindsay would be the Sole Survivor. She just had that air, that look, that quality about her. I would never have guessed she would have left as soon as she did. I was the one blindsided this week.

And what’s with Cody taking it easy on Coco after all that cutthroat talk about hitting the other tribes where it would hurt them the most? I would have taken their machete and I wouldn’t have felt guilty or bad about it either especially with my tribe down as many numbers as they are. You are either in it to win it or you should go home.

Despite that, Vesi had a fantastic comeback regaining that momentum they had lost which just goes to prove what Probst often says…You never give up. Can they maintain that drive and knock the other tribes down a few more pegs? Stay tuned folks.

Moment # 1: Lindsay becomes paranoid.

Next time on Survivor…

Lindsay Carmine

Keeping your cool, reining in those suspicions, that paranoia is what the great not the good Survivor players can do. Lindsay couldn’t harness hers despite her own allies reassuring her as best that they possibly could. Sometimes even someone’s best just isn’t enough when other factors are at play.

Lindsay did some good strategic work on the island. She put together a good group that she was comfortable with and lead many of the strategic discussions.

The fact that Lindsay couldn’t hold onto her alliance speaks to the flaws in her social game. It obviously wasn’t as strong as she thought it was.

Lindsay was a competent leader that many looked up to. She took herself out of the game though when she permitted her own insecurities to control her.

Who played it cool and who proved themselves to be a fool? Every week John Powell makes his picks for the worst and best players of the week.

If I didn’t know better I would assume that Mike’s day of reckoning could be soon as his reputation keeps taking a hit.

Cassidy just doesn’t have the numbers and is on her way out of the game unless she flips things in a big way.

Lindsay was too confident and then too paranoid.

Cody worked Coco to perhaps reaped far more than what he would have stealing their machete.

Vesi helping out Baka insured that Coco was going to meet with Jeff Probst at tribal.

Karla was the catalyst that took down Lindsay. She isn’t afraid to make moves that’s for sure. Could she be a dark horse this season?
