The Big Brother house has been the host to the rich, the famous and the infamous during its Celebrity or V.I.P. editions held around the world. The defunct United Kingdom and the new Australian franchise have enticed all manner of celebrities from all walks of life to match their wits against Big Brother and the other houseguests, usually for a cash reward for their chosen charity. In case you missed their appearances, here are the most notable Celebrity Big Brother houseguests from the UK and one from Australia. The new season of Celebrity Big Brother USA debuts tonight on Global TV.

Taking a break from her 2021 political campaign in California, Jenner was a source of inspiration for many on Australia’s Big Brother VIP season. Although she was one of the most dedicated players competing for Trans Pride Australia, she sacrificed herself on Day Eight when a coincidental twist forced the houseguests to immediately vote out one of their own. Caitlyn volunteered to be voted out so she could return to the United States.

In 2006, retired NBA legend The Worm made it all the way to the last two days, finishing in fifth place. Approximately 23% of the public voted for him to leave over Chantelle Houghton, a Paris Hilton lookalike and non-celebrity housemate who was there as part of a twist.

The model, socialite and former wife of Donald Trump was a Big Brother houseguest long before he ever became president. Ivana made it all the way to finale night and was a runner-up along with Stephen Baldwin. Only 5.74% of the public voted for her to win though. Alex Reid, a MMA fighter, took home the season and the grand prize.

The Cheers and Look Who’s Talking actress won over the British public finishing in second to Coronation Street actor Ryan Thomas during her season. While in the house Alley was elected President of the Big Brother house and coincidentally Thomas was voted by viewers as the Vice-President. During her time as president, Alley led a food/grocery task in which she had the houseguests build a wall in the backyard and protect it from intruders who were trying to steal “Green Cards”.

The American actor was a divisive force among viewers and the houseguests themselves for his sometimes erratic, curt and sometimes eccentric behaviour. He was nominated a record 24 times by the houseguests but the viewers never voted him out crowning him the winner on the finale. Viewers were charmed by his antics and his honest, down to earth nature, even if he ruffled a few feathers by being so direct with people.

Best known for his roles in Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill and a host of other Hollywood blockbusters, Madsen made it to the finale finishing in fourth place. Madsen proved to be another famous yet very plainspoken and relatable houseguest to not only viewers but the other houseguests as well who came to him for all sorts of life advice.

The Jackson family members played on back-to-back seasons in Britain. The humble, thoughtful and scholarly Jermaine ended up as the runner-up during his season which was mired in controversy due to the racial comments made against eventual winner Shilpa Shetty. La Toya and Scottish politician Tommy Sheridan were voted out in a double eviction with both finishing in seventh place during La Toya’s season.

Back in 2014, the championship boxer only stayed in the Big Brother house for eight days and was the first houseguest to be voted out. He was the centre of some controversy as well.

Holyfield was given a warning by Big Brother when he made a comment that being gay “wasn’t normal” in a conversation with fellow houseguest Luisa Zissman about why more sports stars don’t come out.

Holyfield went onto to say: “It don’t make no difference. If you’re born and your leg was turned this way, what do you do? You go to a doctor and get it fixed back right.”

When reminded of the rules and sanctioned by Big Brother in the Diary Room Holyfield had this to say: “Yes I understand why. I thought I was just, I forgot about the thing. I was just telling her my opinion but it’s not like I was going to mention [it] to anybody else. It was just our conversation.”

Like the Jackson family, the Baldwins have their own Celebrity Big Brother UK dynasty but they didn’t do as well. Daniel Baldwin was the first houseguest evicted in the USA versus UK season. Stephen was voted out fourth on his season.

Known for his role as “Screech” on Saved By The Bell, Diamond was booted on the sixteenth day in a double eviction with Coronation Street star Bruce Jones. Diamond finished in 10th place.

The American Pie, Sharknado and The Big Lebowski actress was a houseguest in 2011. She was the third houseguest to be evicted.
