There were paparazzi. There was champagne. And there was a whole lot of scheming on the premiere episode of Celebrity Big Brother USA.
Queer Eye for the Straight Guy’s Carson Kressley headlined the move-in episode as the first houseguest to enter the Big Brother house. Due to COVID protocols the houseguests entered one-by-one and not in groups like on previous seasons.
Kressley entered the house with a ready-made alliance. He immediately formed a partnership with Shanna Moakler, Todrick Hall and Cynthia Bailey. Kressley has worked with Moakler and Bailey in the past and he has starred on RuPaul’s Drag Race with series choreographer and occasional judge, Hall.
“I know a lot of these people. I am feeling good and comfortable. I think we can form a really good girls and gays alliance,” said Kressley in the Diary Room.
Kressley brokered the alliance as the four houseguests settled into their bedroom.
“Fierce girls and us two gays!” said Kressley.
“I would love that. I have been so paranoid that people are going to start alliances and nobody is going to ask me to be in one,” replied Todrick.
Miesha Tate, the MMA fighter, won the first Head of Household of the season beating everyone in a swinging endurance challenge.
The elimination order was:
Todd Bridges forfeited competing in the competition so he could host it.
Tate made a deal with Todrick that she wouldn’t nominate him but turned down Mellencamp who also tried to make a deal.
“Teddi was trying to make a deal but it is too early in this game to be offering everyone safety,” said Tate in the Diary Room.
Tate will make her nominations for eviction on tomorrow night’s episode on Global TV.
Host Julie Chen-Moonves announced the first big twist of the season in the form of a “game-changing” power in a Gala Gift Box.
“That gift will be a blessing to one houseguest and a curse to another,”said Chen-Moonves.
On Friday’s episode the first Celebrity Big Brother houseguest will be evicted.
