Like Roxette sang, it must have been love but it’s over now. Melody and Drew were the showmance of the season…or at least Big Brother fans thought so. Now, it is appearing that Melody doesn’t have those kind of feelings for Drew. Well, you could have fooled us. Melody spoke about Drew, her HoH and more Drew in her chat with us.
John Powell: What did it mean to get that message from your mom?
Melody Morris: See, getting a message from my mom meant the absolute world to me. My mom is my best friend. We are very close and being in the Big Brother house and not being able to talk to her, see her, hug her—all of those things—was extremely hard. Being able to just see her face and hear her voice, have her tell me how proud of me she is, be silly and be fun, and do the phone bit back to me was classic.

My mom, she’s absolutely hilarious and she’s so gorgeous. I’m so glad I got to see her. It was very emotional and I am forever grateful that I got to see my mom on TV in the Big Brother house!
John Powell: Do you wish to pursue a romantic relationship with Drew?
Melody Morris: Ultimately, I would not consider a romantic relationship with Drew outside of the game. I love Drew and I think he’s awesome. I want to continue to be his friend but there are a lot of traits that Drew has that I would never want to date.
John Powell: Who would you have had the best chance of winning against in the final two?
Melody Morris: I don’t know who I would have had the best shot of winning next to in the final two. Potentially Taylor? I think Taylor and I would come down to how well we presented a speech and a case. I mean, obviously, duh. I don’t even know if I would have won next to Drew. Like, maybe Dee and Devens? Unfortunately, I’m not really sure who I would have won next to, if anybody.
John Powell: What was your best strategic move?
Melody Morris: I think my best strategic move in the game was literally just being myself. I think that carried me a long way. That probably sounds insane, but, you know, not being super close with everyone, I think, did take me a little bit further because people can’t trust someone who everybody trusts.

I think even just being someone who is fun to hang out with is a huge aspect of Big Brother and I think just by being myself I got people to like me and not view me as someone to get out of the game.
Obviously, I wasn’t a threat because of my competition skills but I also wasn’t annoying enough to want to vote out as well. So, yeah, I think getting close with the right people took me as far as it did and I did that by being myself.
John Powell: Any regrets about your HoH?
Melody Morris: I don’t have any regrets about what I did during my HOH. I would do the same thing that I did 100 times over. I feel like it was the correct decision and that’s all you can really try and do: do what you think is best with the cards that you’re dealt.
John Powell: How about getting Yash out of the game?
Melody Morris: Yash iced me out of the vote with Dee and Angela and he kept Dee and was clearly working with Dee and Devens at that point. It was very clear that Drew, me and Barrett were the targets to go next. Then he also lied about his bribe and what it covered then put me up on the block next to my two closest allies and I could have gone home. He was the biggest competitive threat so I don’t have any regrets about that.
It does suck that I obviously am sitting next to him in jury, and maybe it would have been different if I kept Dee. But, again, I still think I made the right decision.
John Powell: Why did you trust and keep working with Drew when he kept lying to you?

Melody Morris: I barely trusted Drew, and I continued to trust him the amount that I did because I literally had no other choice. The only real, true allies that I had in the game when Mallory left were Barrett and Drew. Especially when you get deeper into the game I feel like it’s harder to build those closer relationships.
You know, I had a good relationship with Yash and Taylor and then that all panned out the way that it did. And I obviously didn’t trust the Icons; they had literally just backstabbed me with that sham of an alliance, Mosh Pit.
I barely trusted Drew in the game and the reason that I continued to trust him was because I had no other choice. When Mallory was evicted, Drew and Barrett were my closest allies and I wasn’t about to turn my back on them or give up Drew, even though he did lie to me multiple times.
Because who else was going to be my ally? I still believed that Drew would protect me in the game and not put me up and not vote me out of the house. So that is why I ultimately continued to be his ally.
