Rome, the pickle ball coach from Florida has been watching the live feeds since being voted out of the house and he isn’t happy with what he is seeing especially when it comes to his friend Jason.

Last night, Jason was the target of a tea party engineered to put him on the hot seat and bury his game even further than it already has been. Watching it unfold, Rome wishes he was back in the house for his friend.

John Powell: Rome, it’s wonderful talking to you. You’ve had a bit of time to decompress. How are you feeling?

Rome: Honestly, I feel good. Mentals good. The biggest thing I had to get used to was not being on camera 24/7. It’s like no one’s watching me anymore. Like I can lay in my boxers in my bed. (laughs)

John Powell: Well, I have to say I have some sympathy because my wife is actually preparing for a trip to London right now. So I have to ask you, Rome, what’s life without Lyric?

Rome: You know, it’s it’s been tough watching her from the outside. I left her a sweatshirt of mine and I said, “Hey, anytime you feel like you’re sad or upset or anything I want you to use this to keep you sharp and remember that I’m going to be watching you and supporting you this whole time even when I leave this house. So, if you see on the live feeds her holding a green sweatshirt that is mine.

John Powell: What do you think she has to do to persevere? What do you think her best move is right now?

Rome: I think she’s doing an awesome job. I told her before we left you have to get in the good graces and use your sweet, lovable damsel-in-distress personality to get these guys wrapped around your finger. I don’t care about the flirting at all. I think she’s using her game to her advantage. The one thing that’s going to happen is she’s going to have to go cutthroat mode eventually and really show them that she’s not just this cute, adorable person. She’s in there to win this game.

John Powell: Well, she did vote against you and helped kick you out of the house. What do you think about what’s been going on with Jason? I mean, you were really close to him in the house.

Rome: You know, I saw the whole tea party and it felt eerily similar to exactly what they did to me on nomination night. They’re they’re sitting there, they’re saying all these good things and then they go after Jason, they they go right to him. Jason handled himself so well in that situation he was stuck in. I just wish that I could be there to support him because when everyone got up and left that that patio area, he was sitting by himself. I can promise you if I was in that house I’m not letting him sit there by himself. I’m going to sit there. I’m going to give him the biggest hug. I’m going to tell him you belong here. You are the best. You are so good at this game and that’s why people are coming after you.

John Powell: Yeah, I was really surprised by that. I thought at least after the meeting, some people would come up give him a hug. I thought that’s symbolic of kind of what’s going on. They’re like targeting a particular person, like they did you, and this is how they bury them.

Rome: That’s what they’ve been doing two weeks in a row now. They did the same thing with me and I’ll tell you what he did a much better job composing himself than I did. I broke down in tears for like two hours afterwards. He got up, he said, “I got this!” and then he said, “I’m going to get going and I’m going to do this for everyone. I respect him so much for how he handled that situation and how he handled the aftermath of it as well.

John Powell: Now you’ve been able to watch what’s been going on. What has surprised you the most?

Rome: I thought I had really good connections with people in the house and I know I did and I thought I knew these people on a really personal level but I’ll tell you what, Drew, my boy, he is playing the game so well. He’s got this strong alliance with Tool Shed. If he was to switch and vote some of them out I think they would be genuinely surprised. I just think Drew is playing such a good game for the situation he’s in.

John Powell: If you could pick one person who you want to follow you out this week, who would that be, Rome?

Rome: You know, I wouldn’t want anyone out personally but if I had it my way, and if all the cards are on the table, I want one of those three Icons to walk out this door. I want to say: “Hey guys, thank you for putting that target on my back!” but I’m hoping that it put the target right back on them.

John Powell: We saw Angela mirror some of her gameplay against Matt last season with you this season. What was up with that?

Rome: I’ve caught up on all the episodes and I’ve seen all the Diary Room sessions and everything. It’s so interesting because I had absolutely zero intention of targeting Angela through that first week and I was genuinely taking people up to the gym to train them.

We didn’t talk any strategy half the time when we were up in that gym so her paranoia kind of set in that I was going to attack her and really like go after her that week when my target was the two Survivor players mainly because I thought they were as as like good as Angela is at talking and persuading people and making the scene happen. Those two are so under the radar and so competitive that they’re going to win. They’re going to win things. They’re so charismatic as well. I wanted the Survivor players out but then once Angela targeted me, I was like: “Okay, let me shift my attention that way because I don’t know what happened there. I thought we were cool.”

John Powell: I know people are going to want to know. Obviously, there’s lust and love, and sometimes they come together for you when it comes to lyric. When did lust turn to love?

Rome: I had a moment with her at the dishwasher that I think will stick in my head forever. I’m 28-years-old. I’m looking to eventually settle down with the person that I see the best qualities in. When I was talking with her she’s like: “Oh, let me load the dishwasher.” And I go, “Okay, go ahead.”

She she’s never owned a dishwasher before in her life so watching her load the dishwasher was like the cutest thing I’ve ever seen because she’s putting cups on the bottom rack and she’s like: “Oh where do the forks go?” and I was like: “I’ll handle the dishwasher. You just help me rinse them off and stuff. It was like I knew from then on it wasn’t just that I was attracted to her like her personality and her presence and her like radiance was what I fell for.

John Powell: I was gonna say for a lot of people it’s the soul that comes out, you know. As I was saying to my son the other day, it’s not these big moments in life that you remember or you have an effect on you. It’s these little moments, like you’re talking about with the dishwasher that you’re remembering weeks later, which is amazing. Rome, it was wonderful walking watching you on the show.
