Morgan Freeman compares ‘Madam Secretary’ Washington to real Washington

Morgan Freeman, producer and actor on Madam Secretary, was the big guest on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and the crowd went wild! Is that unexpected, though? Morgan Freeman is just one of those unanimously beloved actors in Hollywood (while it’s not just the voice, it probably has a bit to do with it).

Freeman’s series, Madam Secretary, has its fourth season premier on Sunday October 8 (which you can catch at 10 et/pt on Global). So first things first – how does the Washington in Madam Secretary compare to the real-life one? Well, Freeman holds the fictional one in higher esteem, for starters.

All seriousness and political panic attacks aside, you don’t have Morgan Freeman on your late night talk show without asking him to say some specific lines for later use. You just don’t. And since Colbert doesn’t do the whole sidekick thing, he thought a few clips of Freeman for later splicing would be just as good.

Delightful! Though it’s at least a little bit unsettling how quickly he can turn his laugh off.

Be sure to Catch more of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert airing weeknights at 11.35 et/pt on Global, or watch the latest episodes online here on! And don’t miss the anticipated season four premier of Madam Secretary, Sunday October 8 at 10 et/pt on Global!
