Queen Latifah’s new show The Equalizer premiered on Sunday after the Super Bowl. Really, the game was just a warm-up act for the big premier. Based on the Denzel Washington film series (which in turn is based on the original Equalizer TV series), the show is about righting wrongs within an unjust system.
Sounds exciting, but you can see for yourself! The Equalizer airs Sundays at 8.00 et/pt on Global – and it’s just started, so you can watch the first episode right now on GlobalTV.com!
The Super Bowl
The big event this past Sunday, besides The Equalizer premier, was the Super Bowl. Millions of people tune it to watch American football, and all the glitz and glam that it provides. And one of those glitzy glammy things is the Super Bowl Halftime show – a musical performance of incredible proportions. And, Queen Latifah was once part of that! In 1998 for Super Bowl XXXII, she performed – and still remembers the exact feeling to this day.
Imagine performing for all those viewers. You’d have to have a real love for it to deal with the stage fright that would come along with that gig!
Finding Something Beautiful in COVID-19
First off – nobody is saying the virus isn’t horrible.
Queen Latifah noticed, though, that nature was able to come out a bit more, as we all retracted indoors. During lockdown, the sky was a bit clearer, and the flora and fauna were more ready and willing to dare out into the day.
If only we could find a balance, of not completely ruining nature while also not having to deal with a socially crippling pandemic.
