Star of hit TV comedy Superstore America Ferrera made her third appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert – that’s a lot of times for a show that hasn’t even been on the air for two years yet! That probably means that Stephen thinks she’s grand, and we’re inclined to agree.
Knowing that Ferrera was a huge Hillary Clinton supporter, and having not seen her since before the 2016 election, Stephen asked America how she is coping with the last months of the other America’s government. She answers similarly to his other guests (he asks that one a lot); she’s getting by.
She got a deep passion for politics: Ferrera had just completed another triathlon, and even when explaining what that entails to Stephen, she slipped in a pretty sweet zing re: the post-factual world we can’t seem to escape. Also, that triathlon sounds intense (but she wails Beyoncé to get through it so more power to her)!
Ferrera recently directed an episode of her show Superstore! That’s some tricky multitasking, not to mention having to deal with yourself as an employee/boss. She has some choice things to say about actor America/director America, from both perspectives. Plus, Stephen and America do random big box store announcements!
