Shemar Moore Brings the Heat to New Series S.W.A.T.

LOS ANGELES - MARCH 22: "Pilot" -- A locally born SWAT sergeant, former Marine Daniel "Hondo" Harrelson (Shemar Moore), is newly tasked to run a specialized tactical unit that is the last stop in law enforcement in Los Angeles, on the series premiere of S.W.A.T., Thursday, Nov. 2 (10:00-11:00, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Shemar Moore, Stephanie Sigman, Alex Russell, Jay Harrington, Lina Esco, Kenny Johnson, Peter Onorati and David Lim star in the police drama inspired by the television series and feature film. Last night, star of the brand-new series S.W.A.T., Shemar Moore, was a guest on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert

The Young and the Restless alum immediately cranked up the charm as he schmoozed Colbert by tossing him a huge amount of respect ) for the truth in media he provides. Oh, and Moore let it slip that his mom has a crush on Colbert! He really buttered him up before the interview even started.

Now, Shemar Moore isn’t one to shy away from his own physique. In fact, he is often seen shirtless when he makes an appearance on television (no, sorry, his appearance on The Late Show isn’t one of those times). Moore reveals that it’s learned behaviour from his childhood, so at 47 years, he’s too old to change his ways (but really, nobody’s going to ask him to).

Face it: Shemar Moore looks great for his age. Heck, he looks great for 35, which is the age of his character on S.W.A.T. (premiering November 2 at 10pm et/pt on Global). But that’s not without some effort – colouring a few grays here, covering a couple wrinkles there, doing 500 sit-ups a day… and when that doesn’t work, sucking in the ol’ gut will have to do when the director calls “action.” And as impressive as Shemar’s physique is, it looks like Colbert has him beat when it comes to the gut suck. But Colbert only wins the “Most Improved” trophy here.
