Lisa Kudrow dialed in to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to talk about the highly anticipated upcoming Friends reunion special!
The Friends Reunion
“So no one told you life was going to be this way” seems like a good motto for the past year and a half. A lot of unfair things have happened to pretty much everyone. But things are turning a corner, and as the world begins to wake from its lockdown slumber, there’s still way too much TV to watch with the time that we have!
But coming soon is a definite not-miss for any Friends fan, big or small. Friends: The Reunion is an upcoming talk/documentary style special featuring the original cast as they go through old sets, scripts and special moments. Lisa Kudrow couldn’t wait to see all her old Friends friends again, so much so that maybe she missed the point of the special a little bit.
But it’s sweet, that she put the people first and all the things and memorabilia second. Because, it’s the folks – the cast, the writers, the producers, directors and crew – who made the show how special it was, not some orange couch in a fake coffee shop.
And you know, Stephen could have been a part of that reunion! Well, actually probably not, but he did audition for a part in an episode. He didn’t get it, but if he did… who knows? Could it have led to the seventh Friend?
Imagine a world with Stephen Colbert having a bit part in a Friends episode. Maybe it would have led to something different for him? It’s safe to say, it’s probably for the best he didn’t get that role.
Speaking of Friends…
Lisa Kudrow and late night competitor Conan O’Brien have been good friends for a really long time. Like, Almost forty years long.
And even with all that history, Conan still prefers Stephen Colbert.
In the world of friends, it looks like Stephen won out after all.
