The new ‘Hannibal’ series Clarice
Premiering this week, February 11 at 10.00 et/pt on Global, is Clarice, the new series based on the character Clarice Starling from Silence of the Lambs. The series follows Clarice a year after the events of the film, as she investigates more outrageous cases along the lines of Buffalo Bill.
Rebecca Breeds stars as Clarice Starling, and she couldn’t be more excited!
Rebecca Breeds’ enthusiasm sells just how solid of a show Clarice will turn out to be!
Once you hear Rebecca Breeds with the Jodie Foster accent, you’ll agree that she was made for the role. But it wasn’t always a sealed deal for Breeds. Like most high profile roles, she went through a rigorous casting process. But she obviously, and well-deservedly got it. And, she was told she snagged the role in the best way possible, with a very iconic line from Hannibal Lector mythos.
Also, yeah, thanks Mike Petty! What a class act.
The Clarice Starling Accent
Jodie Foster made the role of Clarice iconic in Silence of the Lambs. So Rebecca Breeds has a lot to live up to, starting with that accent. But don’t you worry – Breeds has a little trick to getting into character, taking a page right out of Foster’s, or maybe more appropriately Thomas Harris’, book.
Rebecca Breeds’ Many Skills
Beyond amazing Appalachian accents, Rebecca Breeds is apparently a woman of many interests and skills! While acting is her main gig now, it’s only the most recent of a long list of potential careers that Rebecca Breeds could have easily fallen into.
For our sakes, it’s a pretty good thing she settled on acting!
