Rookie Blue is welcoming two new cast members to the force as they gear up for the premiere.
Rookie is currently shooting the 5th season of the hit series in Toronto, on the heels of nine Canadian Screen Awards nominations.
This season Oliver Becker and Matt Murray are joining Division 15.
Becker will play Inspector John Jarvis, who strolls into 15 with a serious agenda: to shake things up and make his mark. Jarvis, a conniving political spin-master, wants to know if his new division is full of heroes or screw-ups.
Murray will play a new rookie, Duncan Moore, aka Selfie, who struggles to fit in and is eager to point out other’s mistakes. Andy is tasked with training Selfie — who will soon prove to be a challenging and well-connected recruit.
The new season begins where the dramatic Season 4 finale left off, with two lives hanging in the balance. We last saw Sam Swarek and Chloe Price in critical care at Memorial Hospital after they were shot in the line of duty.
“We are all so excited to get started on Season 5,” said Tassie Cameron, Executive Producer and Showrunner.
“We get to pick up where we left off – gunshots, drama, mayhem, love – and we also get to launch a bunch of exciting new storylines and characters that will change everything, for everyone. It’s so great to work on this show, with these incredible actors and the chemistry they’ve created together – and to be heading into a fifth season together makes us all very joyful and very proud.”
