as Matt Shade
Like the Porsche he drives, Shade has now achieved ‘classic’ status – just ask him. Blessed with an extra helping of charisma and two helpings of self-esteem, Shade knows he’s lost his way and his zest for the game that used to be his reason for living, and turns to the P.I. world seeking new adventures. He brings his unique skills into all situations, with the added bonus of adrenaline-fueled chases, intricate puzzles and his intriguing new partner.
as Angie Everett
Angie just might be the world’s most driven private investigator. She loves what she does for a living – from the minute a client walks in the door, she’s raring to go. Angie is able to blend in wherever she goes, from a Jays game to a high-fashion soirée. She has smarts, dedication, and a messed-up family history that Shade is determined to learn more about.
as Juliet "Jules" Shade
focused and funny, Jules is definitely her father’s daughter. Like him, she’s
got a good heart but she can be a bit of a hothead. Determined to march to the
beat of her own drum, she also yearns to fit in, just like every 14-year-old. Jules
follows all the trends, owns every gadget, and keeps up-to-date on
the newest and the latest
tech, especially for the blind.
Detective Derek Nolan
is a by-the-book guy who thinks P.I.s are a pain in the ass – trampling on
evidence, confusing witnesses and wasting his time. Time which he’d rather
spend putting bad guys in jail. He has a chip on his shoulder about the idea of
an ex-pro athlete thinking he could pair up with Angie and be an effective
detective. This doesn’t sit well with Nolan at all. To him, a civilian is
someone who should stay behind the crime scene tape, not get mixed up in his
as Detective Kurtis Mazhari
good guy cop who is also a bit of a player, he helps Angie out with cases
because he sees P.I.s as useful to the force. Mazhari believes that P.I.s can do
some real good supporting law enforcement and helping victims of crime in ways
that the police are not able to. But there’s a not-too-carefully hidden motive
too. Mazhari has known Angie since they were kids (he was inspired by her dad to
join the force) and has held a torch for her ever since.
as Don Shade
ultimate blue-collar hockey dad, there’d be no Matt Shade, ex-pro hockey player,
if Don hadn’t driven him to every game and coached him to be focused and hardworking.
Don’s one of those still waters run deep
kind of guys. There’s a lot to discover if you take the time. What you do see
is a guy who loves fishing, home renos, history books and, above and beyond all
else, his granddaughter.
