Celebrities are moving into the Big Brother house in the New Year.
At the end of this week’s live eviction show, host Julie Chen announced that a season of Celebrity Big Brother USA will air in early 2018 and will have live feeds, Big Brother After Dark episodes and multiple episodes airing each week.
Like its UK counterpart, the season will feature a shortened schedule. Unlike the UK version though, Big Brother USA rules will still be in play, not the traditional Big Brother rules in which the Houseguests nominated each other for eviction but the viewing public decides who is voted out and who eventually wins.
In the UK, Celebrity Big Brother has been airing since 2001 and has cast such celebrities as Brigitte Nielsen, Jackie Stallone, Dennis Rodman, La Toya Jackson, Jermaine Jackson, David Gest, Daniel Baldwin, Jenna Jameson, Gary Busey and Evander Holyfield.
The latest season of Celebrity Big Brother UK began on August 1st and ended on August 25th with Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding winning £50,000 for a charity of her choice as per the rules.
The highest paid Celebrity UK Houseguest of all time was Ray J who was paid $1 million to appear on the series and $30,000 to cover his travel and hotel costs in the UK.
