SNL: The best moments of the season premiere

The 41st season is here! Last night Miley Cyrus hosted the season premiere of Saturday Night Live, and it was electric – if it’s any indication for the rest of the season, it’s going to be a great year! In case you missed out last night (or if you just want to relive the magic), here are the best moments from the SNL premier!

Abilify
The first parody commercial of the year – Abilify! The medication for 11 very specific people: the 11 presidential candidates who shouldn’t be running for president.

Hillary Clinton as a surprise guest
The Democratic candidate appeared in a sketch as Val the bartender, a shoulder to cry on for Hillary Clinton (who was enjoying a nice hot cup of vodka). She was a good sport about it, too, considering the sketch was an excuse to tell her what stances she should have taken.

Miley Cyrus as host and musical guest

miley2
What can be said? Miley is one hell of an entertainer. Pulling double duty on SNL is a commendable feat, though not uncommon: she’s joined the ranks of Justin Timberlake, Paul Simon, Britney Spears and Taylor Swift, among many others!

The Millennials
This sketch is parody of an entire generation, as a FOX television series. Pointing out the foibles of entitled twenty-somethings, there are moments when the sketch becomes a little too real, and depressingly apt.

Darrell Hammond returns as Bill Clinton
He’s SNL’s announcer, former long, long, long time cast member, and the only man to impersonate Bill Clinton since Phil Hartman (that’s about 20 years of Bill). It’s great to see him back on stage – here’s hoping for more Hammond face time!

This sketch about marrying Miley Cyrus
It’s bizarre. It’s quirky. It’s adorable. It’s hilarious!

A great start to what looks like will be a great season! Tune in again next Saturday for host Amy Shumer and musical guest The Weeknd, airing 11:30 et/pt on Global!
