Months after The Young and the Restless abruptly dropped one of their leading men over allegations of sexual harassment, Radar Online is reporting that the role of Adam Newman is being recast.

“There are active auditions going on to replace Michael Muhney’s character as Adam Newman. Producers haven’t found the best actor yet to fill the role. It’s important that the role be filled by someone the audience will grow to love,” an anonymous source to Radar.

“There are storylines being written about Adam, and the character is central to the show.”

Muhney played the role of Adam from 2009 until he was fired from the show in December. A month later allegations broke that he sexually harassed 20-year-old co-star Hunter King on at least two occasions. The show has not commented officially, however, both Jerry Douglas and Eric Braeden have chimed in on the scandal.

A few weeks ago, Adam was presumed dead after an epic showdown between him and Billy Abbott ended with a car crash into a river — falling under rule of ‘If there is no body found, the character is still alive’.
