One of Australia's most prolific actresses, Rachel Griffiths has been Oscar nominated and has won several awards.
Griffiths has earned global appreciation for her work, namely for the 1998 film "Hilary and Jackie," opposite Emily Watson and directed by Anand Tucker. Griffiths earned an Oscar and Screen Actors Guild nomination for her role as one of the volatile du Pre sisters.
In 2002, Griffiths' portrayal of Brenda Chenowith in the HBO/Alan Ball drama "Six Feet Under" garnered a TV Critics Association nomination and the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress in a Television Series.
Griffiths was nominated for Emmy Awards in 2008 and 2009 for Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her portrayal of Sarah in "Brothers & Sisters."
Back for a stint in Australia, Griffiths took on the role of Christine Assange in the Australian television project "Underground," based on the formative years of the Wikileaks founder Julian Assange. She recently completed filming the horror feature "Patrick," which will hit screens in 2013. She will also be seen in Disney's upcoming release "Saving Mr. Banks" in December.
