On the big screen, Deschanel has an upcoming cameo in Nick Cassavetes' film My Sister's Keeper. Recent film credits include Glory Road opposite Josh Lucas, Derek Luke and Jon Voight for producer Jerry Bruckheimer. She has also appeared in the feature films Cold Mountain for Anthony Minghella; The Alamo for John Lee Hancock; Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 2, Boogeyman for Stephen Kay and Jane Weinstock's Easy.

In October 2004, Interview magazine named Deschanel one of 6 Actors to Watch in its annual Young Hollywood issue.

Deschanel's television credits include guest appearances on the series Crossing Jordan, Providence, and Law & Order: SVU and the Stephen King miniseries Rose Red. Recent theater credits for Deschanel, a member of the Interact Theatre Company, include the roles of Emily in Our Town, and Natasha in Three Sisters.

Deschanel was born in Los Angeles and received her B.F.A. in Theater from Boston University.
