Welcome to the home of John Powell's 'Survivor: One World' predictions (Tale of the Torch), his episode recaps and interviews. Come back to find out who he thinks will be voted out and track the progress of each player.
Episode 1: "Survivor Smacked Me in the Chops"
On the next 'Survivor': "Medically evacuated veterans Michael Skupin, Jonathan Penner and Russell Swan return to battle for the title of Sole Survivor. Meanwhile, former teen star Lisa Whelchel (“The Facts of Life”) fights to shield her identity from the tribe and, despite his athletic background, former National League MVP Jeff Kent (San Francisco Giants) hits a rough patch early in the game, on the special 90-minute season premiere."
Episode 1: Boot Prediction
Powell's Pick Ratio: 0 / 0
Zane Knight
Zane seems to fit the profile of a first boot. The episode promos show him struggling and not melding well with Matsing at all. Angie could be another candidate as well.
Matsing Tribe
Russell Swan
Word is Russell comes out swinging too fast and too soon. That decision could kill his chances.
Angie Layton
As a model and Miss Utah Teen USA 2010, I am not expecting much from Angie. Her strategy is to manipulate the men and with three tribes battling it out, she may be the weak link at Matsing. Eye candy and nothing more?
Denise Stapley
As a therapist, Denise has all the skills to read and peg people in an accurate and distinctive manner. If she utilizes her skills properly, she could go very far in the game.
Roxy Morris
A seminary student whose Christian beliefs might bring her into conflict with the others. In a three tribe war, cohesiveness is very, very important.
Malcolm Freberg
He bills himself as the next Russell Hantz and if so, he will either crash and burn or carried along because of his bad reputation with the other players.
Zane Knight
A rough and tumble character. A hard worker but also very religious.
Kalabaw Tribe
Jeff Kent
A former Toronto Blue Jay who will definitely an asset to his tribe. I cannot see him leaving early.
Carter Williams
Coaches tend to do well at Survivor. His outgoing personality and strategic mind may keep him safe for some time.
Sarah Dawson
An active salesperson who could probably talk her way out of anything.
Katie Hansan
Another beauty queen who I cannot see doing well considering the competition between three tribes.
Dana Lambert
A cosmetologist with what seems to be a strong personality but might not have the challenge skills to be an asset to her tribe.
Jonathan Penner
He has been on the cusp of winning this game...twice. Brilliantly clever and a likeable personality.
Tandang Tribe
Pete Yurkowski
Another Hantz wannabe but he looks like he has the challenge skills to be incredibly valuable to any tribe.
Artis Silvester
A focused and emotional individual who seems to have a well-rounded personality and skill set.
RC Saint Amour
With physical and mental strengths, she will be an asset early on but could be a threat during the merge portion of the game.
Lisa Whelchel
An actress and die-hard fan of Survivor, it makes sense that she will probably forge a strong alliance with Michael which could take her far.
Abi-Marie Gomes
She has a strong personality and would assuredly bond with Lisa as they would seem to have the most in common. She could benefit from this friendship as she might end up being close to Michael as well.
Michael Skupin
With so much to prove and a Survivor legacy haunting him, he will be the most determined. A charismatic leader, Michael is sure to build a strong alliance around himself.
