She came. She saw. She conquered.

Kim Spradlin, the 29-year-old bridal shop owner from Texas, took home the title of Sole Survivor and the million dollar prize.

Kim beat out fellow finalists Chelsea Meissner, the medical sales rep from South Carolina and Sabrina Thompson, the New York teacher. Of the nine jury votes, Kim received seven, Sabrina two and Chelsea none.

Kim also pocketed a special fan prize of another $100,000.

Kim won the final three Immunity challenges sending Alicia and then Christina to the Loser Lodge to form the final three she had hoped for.

“My biggest move was just getting to know each person,” Kim told host/producer Jeff Probst during the reunion show. “I think if you go and win all of the challenges you will not win unless you have a personal connection with everyone on that jury.”

Kim firmly dominated the game within the first few weeks and never surrendered that control. Her Day One alliance with Chelsea and Sabrina carried her through to the end where the majority of the jury members saw her as the brains behind the Salani Alliance in an edition which began as men versus women.

“Once we merged, we knew he had to get rid of Jonas. We all knew if we could get rid of one more guy, it would be all women at the end,” said Kim of Salani’s strategy of getting men to turn on men thus clearing the way to the finals for the Salani women.

The men did a fine job of digging their own graves by surrendering Immunity to vote out one of their own and turned on each other early on.

“She is just extremely endearing. She has this very soft-spoken, graceful way about her,” Chelsea said of Kim’s way of getting people to trust and believe in her.

Unlike other seasons of ‘Survivor’, the final Tribal Council was very sedate with very little fireworks. The biggest surprise came when 22-year-old Kat Edorsson admitted to having two open heart surgeries before the age of 12 and that she was scheduled to have another. In a touching speech, she advised her fellow jury members to put aside their feelings of betrayal and bitterness as life is just too short to carry around such negativity.

The dastardly Colton Cumbie who had verbally bullied the other players, notably Christina and Bill, was chastised on the Mother’s Day broadcast by his own mother who was in the audience for the reunion show. In the end, Colton did apologize for his harsh words and treatment of the other players.

Probst revealed that the next edition of ‘Survivor’ was being filmed in the Philippines and would feature three tribes led by three former players who had to leave the game for medical reasons during their seasons. Rumour has it the three players are Mike Skupin, Russell Swan, and Jonathan Penner. ‘Survivor: Philippines’ will debut in September on GlobalTV.
