  • Episode 13: Hantz over fist

Dreams die hard on ‘Survivor’. Nobody knows that better than Edna Ma, the 35-year-old anesthesiologist from L.A. An outsider from the very start, Edna put all of her eggs in Coach’s basket. What Edna didn’t realise was that Coach switched baskets weeks ago. After promising to take her to the very end, Coach remained loyal to the core Upolu Alliance and that meant cutting his ties with Edna.

The L.A. wallflower put up an all-out assault at the end, trying to turn the tribe against Brandon, attempting to get the Hidden Immunity Idol from Coach but nothing really worked in her favour mostly because of the bitterness she expressed over being an outsider.

Edna being sent to Ozzy’s Island wasn’t the biggest surprise of the night though. With Ozzy visiting the tribe, Coach pulled him aside and made a final two deal with him claiming he wanted a “noble warrior” with him at the end. If Ozzy does survive, Coach just might have the lifeline he needs to reach the jury vote.

The Survivors at the start of the broadcast were:

    Te Tuna Tribe

    Sophie Clarke

    Albert Destrade

    Brandon Hantz

    Edna Ma

    Rick Nelson

    Benjamin "Coach" Wade

    Redemption Island

Cochran wakes up Ozzy, who is none too surprise that the traitor was the first to go. “Didn’t you learn your lesson,” asks Ozzy. Cochran wonders if he can beat Ozzy in the upcoming duel. Ozzy claims he does. To us though, Ozzy says…“He really doesn’t stand a chance.”

    Te Tuna Tribe

As Brandon conducts a morning prayer, Edna storms away. “Excuse me, I am not really part of this tribe,’ she grumbles. Edna snaps. “This tribe preaches honesty and integrity? I feel duped. I have been treated like a second class citizen.” Coach tries to mitigate the damage. Edna turns on the waterworks. Lucky for everyone, tree mail arrives with videos from home.

Redemption Island Duel – Ozzy versus John

Host Jeff Probst conducts the duel between John Cochran and Ozzy

Hook bags with a grappling hook. Use the balls in the bags to solve a table puzzle.

    Winner: Ozzy.

Winning the duel, Ozzy has the honour of picking three players who will be permitted to spend time with their loved ones back at camp. Ozzy chooses Albert, Coach and Brandon.

    Te Tuna Tribe

At camp, Coach makes his deal with Ozzy. Meanwhile, Brandon’s dad is disappointed with the game he has been playing thus far. Stepping in for his son, Brandon’s dad confronts Coach about a final two deal. Coach jokes that all of the Hantz family seems to be cut from the same cloth. Nobody browbeats him into a deal and time is running out for Brandon, the ticking time bomb.

    Immunity Challenge

Strategy game where players turn over squares to keep themselves safe.

    Reward

Immunity from the Tribal Council vote.

    Winner: Coach.

Te Tuna Tribe – Pre-Tribal Council Happenings

During the Immunity Challenge, Brandon blurted out to Jeff Probst that everyone was playing against Edna. Rick thinks that was a slimy thing to do. “You don’t kick a dog when it is down,” he surmises. Brandon apologizes to Edna. He insists that he never meant to make her feel bad. He never meant to insult her. To Edna, it is the twisted way Brandon functions. He rips into people and then asks forgiveness before he slams them again. She likens it to a husband who buys his wife jewelry after beating her. Edna seeks a deal with Coach, Sophie and Albert against Brandon.

    Tribal Council Happenings

Edna says Brandon is not playing the game with integrity or honour. Brandon insists Edna has misconstrued a lot of things.

    Final Voting

    Sophie Clarke: Edna Ma

    Albert Destrade: Edna Ma

    Brandon Hantz: Edna Ma

    Edna Ma: Brandon Hantz

    Rick Nelson: Edna Ma

    Benjamin "Coach" Wade: Edna Ma

    Tribal Council Victim: Edna Ma

    Powell's Thoughts

It seems we will have to wait until next week to see the big showdown between Albert and Coach for the soul of the Te Tuna Tribe. Coach’s odds don’t look good but he has managed to pull off miracles all season.

Big Brother UK news, Lindsay Lohan will not be joining the cast of Celebrity Big Brother when it launches in the new year.
