"Have you ever liked somebody so much you just wanna lock yourself in your room, turn on sad music and cry?"
Rachel Berry - Showmance
Oh Glee, sometimes you just make me SO darn EMOTIONAL! Graduation is inching closer with every song, and "Dance With Somebody" is an episode all about dealing with change. Thankfully, the McKinley High kids have the music of the late, great Whitney Houston to help them cope with their impending departure. Here's the Glee-cap:
With no beating around the bass-clef, "Dance With Somebody" begins with a stunning a cappella rendition of Whitney's iconic hit "How Will I Know?" sung by Mercedes, Rachel, Santana, and Kurt. Aaaand, I've already got tears in my eyes; this may have been my favorite performance of the entire episode. If you missed it, we have a special clip of the full performance available online.
The award for most intense dramarama in this episode definitely goes to Kurt and Blaine. When Kurt meets a handsome fellow at Between The Sheets - a totally apropos named music store - Kurt and this fellow begin a two-day, totally flirtatious (but strictly text-only) relationship. Of course, Blaine finds out, and he feels completely betrayed by Kurt. The pair explore their feelings through the music of Whitney, and in the end get to the bottom of what's really bothering them: Kurt's impending graduation. Hmpf. Blaine, we know. We know.
Meanwhile, it seems Quinn has yet another love interest in the works, JOE! But Joe can't decide if what he's feeling "down there" for Quinn is Christian or not, so we'll have to wait and see if this one pans out.
Next week, Rachel and Kurt finally get their chance to audition for the New York Academy of the Dramatic Arts. Meanwhile, Puck makes a decision about his future after a meeting with his father. The subject of domestic violence comes to the forefront when one of McKinley’s own admits to being in an abusive relationship.
