The Celebrity Apprentice
Sep 12 2012, 10:58 AM by Christine Montgomery
The Good Wife is known for its intelligent writing and stellar casting choices, and recent guest star announcements may reveal season four as the most exciting season of the award winning series yet.
Originally reported by EW, Christina Ricci will guest star on the show as a "controversial comedienne needing Lockhart/Gardner's help." And while rousing guest stars to act beyond their comfort zone is familiar territory for The Good Wife -- funny-woman Sarah Silverman once played the dramatic role of an online Madame, while nice-guy Matthew Perry had a recurring role in season three as a sociopath -- the casting of Christina Ricci in comedic role represents yet another stride for a series leading in a renaissance of intelligent television.
Designating the man who once voiced "Timon" in The Lion King as a dull bureaucrat also reveals The Good Wife's knack for exceptional casting. Nathan Lane will play the recurring role of a "bottom line-obsessed manager who comes to Lockhart & Gardner to brutally cut costs and slash budgets" on The Good Wife, reports E! Online. Additionally, Nathan Lane will be joined by two fellow Tony Award winning actors on The Good Wife - actresses Kristin Chenoweth and Maura Tierney will both be appearing in minor roles during season four. Brian Dennehy and British actor Marc Warren will also join the cast in guest starring roles.
Season four of The Good Wife premieres Sunday, September 30th at 10.00 et/pt. For a more in-depth look at The Good Wife, read Global TV's interview with Emmy Award winning actress Julianna Margulies.
