This Saturday at 8.00 et/pt, Clay Aiken and Arsenio Hall will be competing head-to-head on the final task which will ultimately determine who will win this season of The Celebrity Apprentice. When all is said and done, what signs should Arsenio and Clay be looking out for in the boardroom that they'll be the one who gets fired? We've got the top five things you do not want to hear in the boardroom of the Celebrity Apprentice.
1. Donald Trump acknowledges your talent.
Gone are the days when Trump would send people packing with “you screwed up, I don’t like you, now you’re fired.” This season, compliments are the ultimate kiss of death on Celebrity Apprentice. To recap:
- Trump firing Cheryl Tiegs:
“I have such respect for you. You’re the biggest and the best. You’re an amazing success story. An amazing woman. A fantastic woman. Good job! Cheryl you’re amazing. Oh, and you’re fired.”
- Trump firing George Takei:
“You are tough, you are strong, you are amazing. Does everyone have a lot of respect for George? Yes? You know who has the most respect for you? Donald Trump! Now you’re fired.”
- Trump firing Aubrey O’Day:
“You’re a great beauty and great intelligence. I just think you’re going to have a fantastic career. You’re fired. Great job.”
If you want to survive, you must stop the compliment train in its tracks. A well-timed, “Wait! I’m actually past my prime, that’s why I’m here” may just be your last shot at staying in the game.
2. Ivanka Trump asks you a rhetorical question.
Ivanka’s rhetorical questions generally have two things in common: they start with “don’t you think that…” and they end with someone getting fired. From asking Dayana whether she thought project managers were supposed to demand respect to asking Lou whether he thought his actions were hypocritical, the young Trump’s questions may prove more fatal than a poutine eating competition at a cardiac recovery clinic.
3. Your opponent uses Eric Trump as a model.
He’s so beautiful, how could you possibly compete with that?
4. Someone else reaches 110% before you do.
Sure, Lou may have single handedly been responsible for half the men’s team’s losses, but can you really blame someone who is exerting themselves 10% more than is even humanly possible? We all knew Dee Snider was doomed when Lou insisted that he gave every task 110%. More strangely, even mere mortals successfully pulled off this tactic throughout the game. Aubrey ‘s 110% card was used to oust Patricia Velasquez, and Teresa Giudice used the shaky arithmetic to eliminate Debbie Gibson.
5. You challenge Lisa Lampanelli to a fight.
“The minute someone lies or misrepresents me I start thinking of them as a vicious animal and I start to attack. So if you wanna’ go, we can go right now.” – Lisa Lampanelli.
Remember, this is a woman who was not afraid to take Victoria Gotti to the boardroom on her first task as project manager. And after she took out Victoria, Lisa got the Incredible Hulk fired with one just line: “If it was just me and Dayana and some guy who could carry stuff we’d have done just as well.” So it was no surprise that Dayana finally got the axe when Lisa said “she is the female Lou Ferrigno, and I object to that.”
