Gleeks, rejoice! Fans eager for Season Four of Glee will get a taste of the smash hit this summer on The Glee Project. Back for a second season, The Glee Project returns with a fresh batch of talented performers – each vying for a coveted 7-episode, guest-starring roll on Glee.
The creative forces of Glee will have their work cut out for them on Season Two of The Glee Project, with this year’s cast even more diverse and more multi-faceted than before.
On this season’s roster of talent, show mentor Zach Woodlee tells Global, “The House they live in is just this mecca of different types of people (who) are all brought together for the same love of one thing, which is performing.”
Take for example, Mario - a remarkable 24-year-old musician, actor and dancer who lost full eyesight at the age of nine. Or Ali - a talented 24-year-old actress and singer who has used a wheelchair since she was two. There’s also 21-year-old Tyler – The Glee Project’s first transgendered competitor.
“Working so intimately with these contenders has been the most beautiful experience I know I’ve ever had… That everybody work(s) at their own level, but they all keep up, it’s amazing – amazing,” says show mentor Robert Ulrich. And not only will the contenders need to keep up, they’ll need to stay on top of the competition, with each performer required to go through intensive rounds of workshops, singing, dancing and acting-based assignments.
But the performers will have some Glee-rific experts to guide them along the way. In addition to Glee creator Ryan Murphy, Woodlee, Ulrich and the rest of the creative team, Glee star Lea Michele (Rachel Barry) serves as guest mentor for the Season 2 premiere episode.
