Interview With Evicted Houseguest: Kathy

Aug 24 2010, 01:19 PM by LoriH65

The latest victim of Pandora's Box was the Sherriff from Texarkana, Kathy Hillis. Kathy was the latest person to be evicted from the Big Brother house after a surprise twist to the game, when Matt, who was on the block fighting for his life, pulled out his Diamond Power of Veto which he had won after opening his Pandora's Box. The DPoV gave Matt the opportunity to take himself off the chopping block and replace it with someone else. That someone else was Kathy, who, most houseguests felt was floating through the game.

Kathy was thought to be more the mum of the group, than a competitor, having won no competitions. And in her final days, unbeknownst to Kathy, the house was convinced she was the saboteur. Kathy will be remembered for getting stuck in a sticky situation - literally. During a luxury competition, Kathy was unable to navigate through sticky caramel, and instead of fighting, lay there in a helpless composition as her teammates watched on helplessly.  We chatted with Kathy about her surprise eviction,  the jury house and how she felt about being a floater.

Following your surprising eviction do you find yourself angry and mad at how the game played out?

No - I'm not angry. I'm a little heartbroken since I didn't have a chance being the victim on the Diamond Power of Veto.

Do you hold a grudge against Matt for what he did?

Absolutely not!

If Matt makes it to the final two, will his decision to put you on the block affect how you decide the winner?

Absolutely not!

You'll be going to the jury house and reuniting with Rachel, how do you feel about Rachel's game play in the game and did it affect you at all?

Rachel's gameplay - I did not approve of. She said some very hurtful and malicious things to other houseguests that I didn't approve of. I think that she will regret later on in life the things that she said to other people.

What was it like having Rachel back in the house for 24 hours?

It was absolutely horrible. Rachel came in angry and she took something that could have been a positive opportunity in her life and turned it into a negative. In my eyes, she maliciously attacked other houseguests in a way that was unacceptable.

You and Rachel had quite an outburst after the Power of Veto competition because you cheered when you won. She demanded an apology but you wouldn't back down - why not?

Because she didn't deserve an apology. I'm not going to give someone an apology and it be a lie. I stay strong on what I believe in and I didn't think she deserved an apology.

What did you think of the saboteur twist and did it affect your game at all?

I did not like the saboteur twist. The saboteur did not affect my game.

Who were you closest to  in the house throughout the game?

Kristen.

What was your strategy while in the house?

My strategy in the game was to be myself and to not go in as a strong competitor and hold off until the middle of the game to start playing hard.

What was the hardest thing about being in the Big Brother house?

Missing my family, friends, coworkers and having no communication with them was horrible. You do not realize how much happiness that brings to you until it is taken away.

Were you disappointed that you didn't win any HoH competitions while you were in the house?

No - not at that point in the game was I disappointed. I would have tried a little harder from this point on to win HOH.  That is why Rachel is gone and Matt was on the block.

You were thought of as a floater in the game, do you agree with that statement or were you unwilling to make an alliance with anyone?

I was not a floater. I just didn't make an alliance with anyone at that point in the game. I think that alliances should be made later on. That is why I am sitting here.

Can you tell me a little bit about the week that you were on the block with Andrew. It looked as if you were going home and then Andrew sabotaged himself.  What was that week like for you?

That week was very hard. It was emotionally draining. All I could do was hope and pray that I could speak to each houseguest and explain my views and reasons for being in the house.
